Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes are entering the early signing period looking to put the finishing touches on a special recruiting class.
After a disappointing 2022 season in which Miami went 5-7, the Hurricanes are closing in on a top-five class, according to 247 Sports Team Recruiting Rankings.
Miami enters the early signing period, which runs from Wednesday, Dec. 21 through Friday, Dec. 23, with 24 commitments.
Three of Miami’s commitments rank among five-star prospects: CB Cormani McClainOL Francois Maugoaand OL Samson Okunlola.
UM has never signed at least three five-star prospects in a recruiting cycle during the 247 Sports era, which dates back to the 2011 cycle.
If this UM class stays together during the first signing period, it would already be the best class the Hurricanes have signed during the 247 Sports era.
The Hurricanes currently own a 247 Sports Recruiting Score of 292.97 overall and start the day with the No. 1. 3 national class. The best class Miami signed in the 247 Sports era before this 2023 was the 2018 class, which had a class score of 280.87 and finished that cycle ranked No. 1. 8 overall in the nation.
Miami is on the cusp of signing the top class in the ACC, something the Hurricanes failed to do during the 247 Sports era.
UM coach Mario Cristobal will end the day with a press conference at 4 p.m.
Stay tuned throughout the day with updates on official announcements as players sign letters of intent and make their decisions as well as player analysis.
